KYSAIAH PICKETT FINALISES TERMS ON NEW DEMONS DEAL
Kysaiah Pickett has pledged his future to Melbourne, with the electric forward signing a fresh contract with the club.
It can be revealed that Pickett and the Demons have finalised terms on a new four-year deal that keeps the gamebreaker in red and blue.
Pickett’s decision to stay at the Melbourne Demons is an enormous boost to Simon Goodwin’s side, with the 21-
year-old becoming the subject of widespread trade speculation over the last 12 months.
Port Adelaide were among the clubs actively pursuing the young South Australian, who became a premiership player in 2021 and has grown into an integral member of his side.
The Demons have since confirmed the news and Pickett spoke of his delight to remain with the club.
“I’m very excited to be signing on and continuing my career in the red and blue,” Pickett said.
“The club has embraced me and my family, and I can’t thank them enough for their support. Everything I do is to make my family proud and the respect and understanding my teammates and coaches have shown us means a lot.
“I’m very thankful to all the fans for their support too and am excited to be part of the club for at least another four years.”

Kysaiah Pickkett is an Australian Rules Footballer who plays for the Melbourne Football Club of the Australian Football League. He is a forward who stands at 1.71 meters (5 ft 7 inches) and weighs 72 kg (159 lb).
Pickett is the nephew to former Demons players Neville Jetta, and Byron Pickett.
In round 11 of 2020 AFL, he was nominated as a Rising Star.
Melbourne selected Kysaiah Picket with the 12th pick overall in the 2019 AFL Draft. Pickett was Melbourne’s second selection, behind Luke Jackson. Melbourne was the recipient of Fremantle’s pick.
Kysaiah was nominated for a Rising Star award in round 11, following Melbourne’s 57 point win over North Melbourne. Pickett kicked one goal and two behinds, while having 12 possessions.
Pickett played every game for Melbourne in 2021. Pickett played in the Grand Final of 2021, but he only had four possessions and made three tackles.
Pickett, who played for Melbourne in 2022, kicked 41 goals over 23 games. He missed only the round 7 match against Hawthorn because of Health and Safety protocol.
Pickett scored four goals for Melbourne in the opening match of 2023 but was reported by officials for a bump to Bulldogs’ player Bailey. Pickett has been sentenced to a two-game suspension by the tribunal for the bump. However, the option to appeal still exists.
