Lachlan Jones Out For A Month With Jaw Fracture
Lachlan Jones is expected to miss the next month of action after a scan revealed a jaw fracture.
Jones’ setback is made even more disappointing after he had a career high 19 disposals in Port’s win on Friday night over the Western Bulldogs.
Josh Carr, Power’s assistant, claimed on Monday that Jones would be recovering for the next four weeks.
Carr was quoted as saying “It was his best game ever for the club… playing a very important role for us, and being confident about that role.” AFL media.
It’s a disappointment to lose him.
Ken Hinkley will be replaced by Ryan Burton, and Riley Bonner, who will both be ready to face the Cats next Thursday, having missed the Dogs’ win at Marvel Stadium. Alberton will welcome the return of resting talent, as this is Port’s third match in 13 days.
Hinklley’s team is on a 10-game winning streak. They have not tasted defeat since the narrow loss they suffered to Adelaide in Round 3 Showdown.
Port will have a bye after next week’s match with Geelong, before returning to battle against Essendon (MCG), Gold Coast(Adelaide Oval), Carlton(Marvel Stadium), and Collingwood(Adelaide Oval), in the following month.
